Next season Kody (AZ Packer) and I are working a way out to make it more clear the way the divisions and conferences are shown. There will either be 3 divisions or 2 conferences with 2 divisions in each conference. That is yet to be decided. I would like all of you to post your thoughts on this. If you have any other ideas on the way divisions and conferences should be set up please post them here as well.

I like the fact the the top 3 in each gets a spot in the playoffs. So if whave to change things around make it so there is 2 conferences with 2 divisions so the top 3 in each conference gets in.

After talking to coworkers that play more then me I am not to sure about the 2 conferences thing. Maybe 3 divisions is the correct way to go. For who get what I would hope at least the #1 in each division would get in and the last 3 spots for the best teams left. I think you understand what I mean.

I believe that a 3 division league is probably the best way to go. In order to play everyone at least once, teams would play each team in their division 2x and everyone else 1x. This gives you a 14 game schedule. No double headers necessary. If playing divisional opponents only 2x is not acceptable and the preference is 3x (to avoid div record ties), then the game schedule would have to be 17 games in order to play everyone at least once. This would bring in the doubleheader option to the league with those games played on non-bye weeks of the NFL.

| I usually don't say much - I think CJ and company do a pretty good job!! I know they want it to be fair and they try to make sure that everybody gets a say in all decisions...I think letting 6 teams into the playoffs out of a 12 team league is VERY fair regardless of what tie breakers exist. Here is a suggestion that I think may help. Play more games in a week, why can't we set our lineup and play multiple teams in a week. Doubleheaders... The more games you play, the more likely you will have clear cut winners in each division. Here is my thoughts - if you wanted to change it.. 11 Weeks you could play each team twice Week 12 Divisional Doubleheader Week 13 Divisional Doubleheader Week 14 Single week of Divisional opponent Week 15 & 16 First two teams in each division play a four team tourney for first through 4th place, 3rd and 4th place in each division play a tourney for 5th through 8th place, and 9th through 12th play for draft position for the next year! This way you play divisional teams 3 times and the other division twice. LOTS of games you have a bad week you could go 0 and 2 ULTIMATELY - I like it the way it is...but I see this as fun playing a bunch more games!!

Thanks on the suggestions we have so far. Input from everyone is important to me since I try to make the league for everyone and not just how I think it should work. For sure next season there will be double headers, however since I do not know personally how to set them up, Kody will be working closely with me and as we go will explain everything that I do not understand. What I wanted to get from everyone is what they would like to see, this way we can look very close at how the software works to see what is possible. Then in return we will let everyone know what we have to work from and go from there. So with that said I don't want to personally comment on any post until all have posted. This way I can not taint on how others are thinking or feeling. So please post your thoughts on this issue!

I Absolutely hate the idea of 3 teams HAVING to make the playoffs from our 2 division's.It in no way rewards the best team's making the playoffs, which SHOULD happen. The way things are now in only rewards the teams that play in the weaker division. If i had my way I would make 3 divisions with 4 teams. That is how my big money league is set up. The teams in each Division would change each year on your record from the previous year.Like 1,5,9,12...2,6,7,11.....3,4,8,10th place from previous year or any other fair way to place teams in divisions. Then the top 3 teams would make playoffs and the next BEST 3 teams regardless of the divisions would be the wild card teams. The schedule in this league is the worst of ANY league I have played in.We should at least play each team once, doubleheaders are a interesting idea as long as it is done where we play each other equaly as possible,if YFFL does not allow a better schedule,we should switch to CBS sportsline(I actually like there set up better)or another league.I love the way we do keepers here, that is the only reason I have stayed playing in this league so long. I wish more people would be more active in trade offers,I only seem to get a response or counteroffer from the SAME teams,it blows to not be able to trade with half the league. With that said I think CJ is by far the fairest, and most understanding commish I have played with. Hopefully we can improve the faults of this league and not destroy what makes this league unique.

As mentioned above, the double headers is the only way to make it so everyone plays ALL teams outside their division at least once. No matter where you play when you have 12 teams in a league and only 13 regular season games it is next to impossible to have the same amount of division games (2+) and play all out of division teams at least once with out the double headers. Their will be way for us to get the double header week(s) set up so it can not happen during a bye week. That is one thing Kody and I have already discussed and both agreed on. This way no one team can get short handed from bye weeks and have all players available to them. As for the settings, these change everytime I change the # of divisions and/or conferences. I guess my only question is how would you consider the last 3 top teams if they all had the same record like 7-6? Would the divisional games even matter anymore or do you just go by total points?

As CJ said, we will be developing a schedule that will most likely accommodate a 16 game schedule. This will encompass doubleheaders that will occur during the weeks opposite the NFL bye weeks and provide a 13 week schedule with the playoffs starting in week 14. As far as playoffs go, there are a couple of different scenarios that can be used for a 2 division league. One would be the 2 division winners automatically advance with the remaining spots going to the 4 next best teams. A second option is the top 2 teams from each division get auto spots and the next 2 teams with best record get the wildcard spots. To break ties among teams qualifying for the wildcard berths, I would propose the first tie breaker to be head to head record and second tie breaker to be total points scored. Please be aware that these are just suggestions and not set in stone. We welcome all discussion.

| The first thing I would like to say is that I am not here to make millions, I am here to play and have fun. Remember this is just a game, and if you are here to make money maybe try the Stock Market, or go work for the Car Industry, wait wait they are losing money, why can't we have fun and not worry with the Small Stuff, I think that Cj and Az are working hard to make things fair. I have not seen a problem with the league and how it is running, all I see is that if people don't give up players they like or want, others get upset, this is a game, just like Cribbage sometimes the cards are not played the way we like them to play, I have been in this league since it was started, so as Az, I know Cody and he plays in lots of leagues. He would of been gone lone time ago if he thought this was a bad league.

The top of this Blog CJ asked ALL of us to post any thoughts on how the league conferences were being run. I threw in a suggestion on how I thought it would improve. I was not complaining at all.Honestly,we ran into a problem this year and it's no fault of anyone's,but when a team goes 6-3 with the teams he is tied with and other teams have a losing record against those same teams, and the better team does not make the playoffs, then it is a problem that needs to be addressed.Like I said this is a extremley well run league and CJ has done a great job running it,he asked for suggestions,so that is what i did.Nobody is in this league is here to make money,we pay %20-%25 of our fees to this site,so the payout is not that high.Me ,I have personaly stayed in this league because our commish has run a great league,he values imput and the people in our league are decent people. Is everyone active,no, but what league is. My comment about trading is just that, I know that I can't trade with some of you because either you never respond to the offer and leave me hanging or never give a counter offer.Fantasy is a game made up of 3 activities :Drafting,Waivers and trading,I try to be active in all,and do the best to play the game and if someone decides not to do all 3 then that is there decision.Yes,,It is a game, and you should play it to have fun and do the best to try to win, like any other game you play,if not then you should not play. With that being said I have REALLY enjoyed playing with all of you.I will not be returning next year.I have done a good job setting my team up with extra picks next year,so whoever takes over my team will be in good shape.I will finish out the year still entering my lineup, like is expected of me.Happy Holidays to everyone, and thank you CJ for being a great commish and you seem like even a better person.

Ann...I am not sure where you got the impression that people are here to make millions, I didn't get that from any of the threads posted.. but if we could make millions here, I don't think anyone would mind...LOL I am sure there are some owners who are here for fun only, but I am also sure that some owners want a competitive/knowledgable league that is also fun...I cannot remember ever being in a league where over half of the teams were within 1 game of each other...pretty remarkable if you ask me. It is pretty evident that the way the system is now when this situation occurs, we have a problem. Hence the start of this thread.. to solicite ideas and opinions on how to make the league better for the future. All owners are welcome to provide any input they want, all ideas will be heard and discussed. CJ has done a very good job in setting up the league, but I doubt that he would have thought there would be this situation. One thing we all need to remember, yes, fantasy football is a game BUT fantasy football players are a much different type of player than cribbage (online gaming) players...I have been in both and I have seen alot in my years...but fantasy players are much more hardcore than most gamers (yes, there are some pretty serious gamers out there)...but the hardcore fantasy player takes the game very seriously and in most cases expects others to be the same, especially in money leagues... the one thing they dislike the most is non-active owners...which I believe is the crux of most complaints Kevin...I totally agree with your assessment on how the game of fantasy football is made up: drafting (the most fun part), waivers (the most challenging, finding that diamond in the rough), and trading (also challenging, yet frustrating when there are less active owners). I will admit that I am one who does not do a lot of trading, but if I have an offer I am interested in, I jump. I always try to respond to offers, if I neglected to respond to an offer from you, I apologize, it was not intentional. Sometimes I do not see the offer here on the home page as I am going straight to my team page. That may be the case for other owners as well. CJ and I have talked about how we can improve that part of the league, but haven't come up with a solution as of yet. You have been a long standing member of this league Kevin, who has had a positive impact. I hope you will reconsider your decision to leave until after we can come up some solutions to the issues that arose this year. Both CJ and I value yours, and everyone's, opinion on how to make this a better league. Should you not change your mind, good luck to you in leagues and maybe we can meet up again in another league.

I guess i may have said things the wrong way. I was not saying anyone was playing to make money, it was just a comment in general. Long Island Swarm I do know you are not here for the money as something was said a few years back and you said that and i remember you posting that and thought that it was great for you to come back at someone that suggested that you were here for the money. I have responded to every trade offer that went my way and I had a lot of them this year. Most of them were for a player i was not willing to give up. it may have cost me but it is someone I wanted to keep on my team. There was a couple of times that i got a email about a trade offer and when I came to the site it was not there anymore. I not sure if someone took it back or if the email was that late. I did contact CJ about it and he thougt it that someone just took it back since that happens sometimes. I admit I am not the best at this stuff but I am still learning and getting better every year. I give it my all during the season and I know it is not as good as some but I am still growing at playing. If anyone thought that my message was aimed at them I am very sorry since that is not what I meant. I was just saying things in general. I hope that is not the reason long island swarm is leaving.

>>> and if you are here to make money maybe try the Stock Market, or go work for the Car Industry I don't really think anyone is here to make money otherwise they would have joined a league that costs a sh** more amount so there was higher prizes. I don't think that was ever a concern. Not sure if you meant someone was here for the money or just a comment in general?

Let me just say I don't really care which way it is set up. I think those that are in charge will make the decision that is best. I just like being able to have some fun and have a reason to watch football. In the 2 years that I have been in this league I have seen a lot of complaining. I have usually stayed pretty quiet about everything. I don't like how just because you have great players from the year before everyone thinks you are going to be the team to beat. You can have a bunch of players that aren't the greatest and still win. Just like I have done. What it comes down to is how good your players on your team preform every week. If I could predict who was going to win in a game before it is played I would say that my girls basketball would go undefeated, however that is not so seeing as we have to play the game and we are now 0-4. So as my daughter said while she was listening to me read the post. You can't count your chickens before they hatch.

Thanks Kevin for the kind words. >>> thank you CJ for being a great commish and you seem like even a better person I do have to agree with you on the trading. There are teams that do not always respond to trade offers and leave the other team hanging. This has happened to me in the past as well and I have brought it up in the past and am doing so again. No matter if you do not want to trade at least give the courtesy of a response either by using the system or at least email the team that offered you a trade. This thread was started for opinions about the playoffs and rankings and it seems it veered away from that. As with that said let I hope this area gets back on topic soon. Kevin, I sent you an email earlier & will wait for a response. CJ
