(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 Bling Bling matchup, Highrailers squeaked by a tough The Apocalypse team by a score of 126.50 to 114.45, silencing a partisan crowd of 65,634.
Highrailers were led to their 12.05 point victory by a 23.90 point effort from Hines Ward, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 109 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Ward was the number 4 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 18.80 point effort from Tony Romo, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 252 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 2 rushing yards. "Our fans were the 12th man today," Highrailers coach Gary Paplow said. The Apocalypse were helped out in a losing cause by a 19.80 point effort from Wes Welker, who snuck past the Arizona Cardinals defense for 68 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. They also got help from a 18.10 point effort from Owen Daniels, who beat the Oakland Raiders defense for 111 receiving yards. "We lost our focus," The Apocalypse coach Apocalypse said. Compounding the issue, The Apocalypse could have scored 149.45 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Apocalypse left key players like Tashard Choice and his corresponding 24.50 points on the bench. This brings the record for Highrailers to 7-6, and drops The Apocalypse to a record of 8-5. | ||
